Abstract: The first examples of sulfonylalkene geminal diazides were obtained by the reaction of aryl 2,2-dichlorovinyl sulfones with sodium azide. The formation of the corresponding diazide derivatives was confirmed by NMR spectroscopy data. The obtained sulfonylalkene geminal diazides easily react with strained cyclooctyne to form 1,2,3-triazole [3 + 2] cycloadducts
Keywords: azides, sulfones, dichloroalkenes, azide-alkyne cycloaddition, cyclooctyne, 1,2,3-triazoles.
