Abstract:
Controlled alkylation of deprotonated N-Acyclohexyl-1-cyclopropylethylidene imine 1 or its condensation with aldehydes lead efficiently to the saturated (3) or conjugated (5) cyclopropyl ketones respectively, the latter being key intermediates in short stereospecific syntheses of some transoid Lepidoptera insect pheromones.
