Simulation of a vortex cavitation in the submerged water jet
V. T. Grumondz, V. V. Klimov Moscow Aviation Institute
Abstract:
Cavitation nucleus behavior in the pressure field of a pair of coaxial thin vortex rings is numerically simulated. These nuclei are the gas and vapor filled spherical microbubbles. Influence of vortex rings interaction on the cavitation inception within nuclei is estimated based on potential and incompressible fluid model. The effects of volume oscillations, viscous drag and add mass during bubble motion are concerned in this study. The influence of convection gas diffusion through the bubble wall and its wall stability has been also considered.
