The reconstruction of the mechanical properties of a visco-elastic layer based on the impedance measurements

Abstract:
The paper generalizes the solution of the classical axisymmetric Lamb problem for elastic semiinfinite medium to the case of a visco-elastic layer of finite thickness under harmonic action. This solution provided the basis for the reconstruction of unknown mechanical properties of the layer using the data on the displacements of a rigid circular stamp acting on the layer under the known force. The approach is exemplified by processing of some published experimental data.
