Abstract: The interaction of laser radiation with nonlinear absorpting semiconductor under the conditions of its bistable response in the case of photogeneration, relaxation and bipolar diffusion of charge carriers, and heat conductivity is considered. The influence of linear and nonlinear diffusion on the spatial distribution and dynamics of switching waves are studied in the cases of thick and thin semiconductor layers.
