M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University
Abstract: The numerical method for the study of tearing modes instability is presented for toroidal plasma. The construction of the method takes into account the asymptotical behaviour of the solution near the resonant points. It is possible to get the correct results in the calculations for high magnetic Reinolds number of the order $10^{-8}$$10^{-10}$. The results of the stability simulation are presented for the lowest poloidal harmonics $m=1,2$ of the $n=1$ mode in toroidal geometry of plasma with high $\beta_p$.
