Abstract: December 9, 2023 marks the 140th anniversary of the birth of Academician Nikolai Nikolaevich Luzin, one of our greatest mathematicians and the incomparable Teacher of a whole generation of major scientists, the Teacher who promoted Soviet mathematics to one of the first places in the world. To the personality of N.N. Luzin (scientific, pedagogical and human) was devoted an article, written for his 120th anniversary, and published in our journal in 2003. 20 years later, the author returns to his beloved Luzin and reflects on his tragic fate.
