Abstract: The editors of the journal "Mathematical Education" report with deep regret the death of Semyon Grigorievich Slobodnik, teacher of mathematics (algebra, geometry, mathematical analysis) of the State Budgetary Educational Institution "School 179 of Moscow" (03/04/1948 - 02/27/2024). At the end of the note, information on the activities of the Foundation for Mathematical Education and Enlightenment in 2023 is provided.
