Abstract:
The results of the authors' recent work are discussed, which for the first time demonstrates the possibility of forming and ultrafast controlling optical microresonators formed by a single-moment overlap of unipolar pulses in a resonant medium. The possibility of implementing attosecond switching of medium states using half-cycle pulses is discussed, i.e. the possibility of rapidly changing the optical properties of the medium in space and time.
Keywords:
extremely short pulses, attosecond pulses, optical microresonators, spatiotemporal photonic crystals, attosecond optical switching.
