Special features of heterojunction formation in whisker nanocrystals

Abstract:
The formation of axial heterostructures in whisker nanocrystals is studied using a growth model that takes into account the vapor–liquid–crystal mechanism. An explanation for composition oscillations near heterojunctions is suggested. Some experimental data are explained based on the results.
