Abstract:
We have studied the influence of a longitudinal graded inhomogeneity in crystals of bismuth-antimony solid solutions on their thermomagnetic properties. It is established that the presence of a temperature and/or composition gradient leads to (i) significant and nontrivial deformation of the magnetothermoelectric potential field under the action of a transverse magnetic field and (ii) the appearance of a stationary vortex electric current. It is shown that, with a certain combination of the mutual orientation of the temperature gradient and composition inhomogeneity, it is possible to significantly reduce the vortex current.
