Possibility of synthesizing lanthanum hexaboride using vacuum-free electric arc method

Abstract:
This paper presents the results of experimental studies on the development of scientific and technical foundations for the method of synthesizing lanthanum hexaboride (LaB$_6$) using atmospheric plasma of a direct current arc discharge. The quantitative and qualitative composition of the synthesis product was determined using the results of X-ray diffractometry. The morphology and particle size of the resulting powder material based on lanthanum hexaboride were determined using the results of scanning electron microscopy.
