Abstract:
The electron-impact excitation-rate constants for atoms and ions in the ground state have been calculated. It is shows that, using data on the excitation-rate constants, it is possible to compare the limits of detection of the corresponding elements in femtosecond laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy.
