Noise-induced transition in a small ensemble of active Brownian particles

Abstract:
The dynamics of a small ensemble of active stochastic particles globally coupled by velocity-alignment interaction has been numerically simulated. The dependence of the behavior of the ensemble on the number of particles is established. The phenomenon of bistability and the relationship of the ensemble behavior to the distribution of velocity components of a separate particle are analyzed.
