IR magnetotransmission and magnetoresistance of Nd$_{0.52}$Sr$_{0.48}$MnO$_{3-\delta}$ manganite films on LaAlO$_3$ substrate

Abstract: Nd$_{0.52}$Sr$_{0.48}$MnO$_{3-\delta}$ manganite films on LaAlO$_3$ substrate exhibit a large negative magnetotransmission [$(t_H - t_{H=0})/t_{H=0}\approx$ -14%] at a wavelength of 8.8 $\mu$m in a magnetic field of $H$ = 8 kOe and a large negative magnetoresistance [$(\rho_H - \rho_{H=0})/\rho_{H=0}\approx$ -50%] in a field of $H$ = 10 kOe at a temperature $T$ = 225 K. The influence of oxygen vacancies in the manganite lattice on the magnitude of observed effects is discussed. The high values of magnetotransmission and magnetoresistance allow Nd$_{0.52}$Sr$_{0.48}$MnO$_3$ films to be recommended for use in magnetic-field-controlled optoelectronic devices and in spintronics.
