Strength calculation for a blade as an orthotropic plate of linearly variable thickness

Abstract: A method of determining stresses in an orthotropic fan blade is proposed. Calculation results are compared with those obtained by the engineering method and with experimental data. It is shown that the stresses calculated with the use of the model proposed agree well with experimental results.
