Introduction to the Vlasov-Poisson equations

The Vlasov-Poisson system is a combination of nonlinear partial differential equations of the first order and an elliptic equation. We consider the first mixed problem for such a system. The most important application of such equations is the description of the kinetics of high-temperature plasma.
