Abstract:
Objective measurement of color differences is necessary in many areas, from image processing and design to industrial quality control. At the seminar, we will talk about how many years of work on modeling human color perception led to the creation of one of the most common color difference metrics today — CIEDE2000. This small abbreviation hides a calculation graph with an impressive number of steps and variables. We will find out at the seminar how this mathematical algorithm developed, what features of human perception are behind it and what to strive for next.
