Influence of the active-medium characteristics on the output power of an electron-beam-controlled $CO_2$ laser

Abstract:
Experimental investigations were made of the output power of a cw electron-beam-controlled $CO_2$ laser as a function of the composition and velocity of the gas mixture, and of the resonator position. The optimal ratios of the gas mixture components and the best resonator position were found. A qualitative theoretical explanation is given of the results obtained.
