Vibrational relaxation kinetics of molecules in a gas–aerosol system and lasers utilizing two-phase media
V. K. Konyukhov, V. N. Faĭzulaev
Abstract:
An analysis is made of the main surface deactivation mechanisms of vibrationally excited gas- and condensed-phase molecules. A qualitative assessment is made of the characteristic damping of intramolecular vibrations of small complexes. A description is given and an analysis is made of vibrational relaxation regimes for molecules in a gas–aerosol system typical of gasdynamic lasers utilizing two-phase media. The possible use of aerosol particles as a catalyst of vibrational exchange between gas-phase molecules, as an amplifying element, and as an energy carrier in the active medium of gasdynamic lasers is discussed.
