Pulse-periodic iodine photodissociation laser pumped with radiation from magnetoplasma compressors

Abstract:
A study was made of the characteristics of an iodine photodissociation laser pumped by radiation emitted from magnetoplasma compressors. A closed system for circulating the working gas $C_3F_7J$ was employed in this laser. Pulse-periodic operation with an interval of 1 min between the pulses was achieved; the output energy was 110 J and the pulse duration was 30$\mu$sec.
