Nikolai Gennadievich Basov (on his 75th birthday)

The Personalia is devoted to the 75th jubilee of the outstanding Russian physicist academician N.G.Basov, awarded in 1964 with the Nobel Prize in physics (together with A.M.Prokhorov and C.H.Townes) for the creation of the new field of science and technology — Quantum Electronics (Laser Physics). Main N.G.Basov's achivements in physics (semiconductor, cemical, excimer and other lasers, laser fusion, frequency standards etc) are described.
