Determination of the characteristics of diffused optical waveguides

Abstract:
The method of approximation of the profiles of diffused waveguides by a combination of a parabola with an exponential function is used to determine the characteristics of optical waveguides whose refractive index distributions can be represented by the Gaussian function, complementary error function, sum of error functions, and reciprocal of the square of the hyperbolic cosine.
