Investigation of Ag- and Ni-activated ZnS and CdS luminescent screens for recording infrared laser pulses

Abstract:
An investigation was made of luminescent screens based on thermographic ZnS:Ag:Ni and CdS:Ag:Ni phosphors for visualization of infrared laser radiation. Two quenching mechanisms (optical and thermal) were observed for these phosphors. The influence of the ultraviolet excitation method on the recording properties of these luminescent screens was analyzed.
