Abstract:
A description is given of a YAG:Nd pulse-periodic laser, assembled from commercially available units and comprising an oscillator and amplifier. This laser can provide efficient frequency conversion and, in particular, generate an intense fourth harmonic with a peak output power of about S MW per pulse (pulse half-width 7 nsec) and an average power of 0.7 W when the pulse repetition frequency is 20 Hz.
