Control of laser radiation parameters

Conditions for two-frequency lasing in coupled-cavity vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers

Abstract: A self-consistent model of a semiconductor coup-led-cavity vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser is presented. The electromagnetic field distribution in the laser is found by the effective-frequency method. The dynamic model is constructed on coupled rate equations for two active cavities. Dynamic, threshold and spectral parameters of the laser are studied. The applicability of the model is confirmed by the good agreement with the experimental data available in the literature.
