Abstract: The characteristic features of the transformation of the time envelopes of the mode components were investigated for a Gaussian frequency-modulated pulse propagating in a two-mode periodic optical fibre taking into account the material and intermode dispersions, as well as various types of excitation of the fibre under the conditions of phase mismatch.
