Anomalously high noise levels in a fibre Bragg grating semiconductor laser

Abstract:
Taking into account gain nonlinearity allows one to obtain anomalously high noise levels in a fibre Bragg grating laser diode. This paper examines the effect of the gain nonlinearity due to spectral hole burning on noise characteristics.
