Coherence. Holography

Reconstruction of holographic images with the aid of an extended source

Abstract: A method is proposed for the recording of holograms which can be used to reconstruct an image when they are illuminated with white light from an extended source. The method is based on an extension, from the temporal to the spatial frequencies, of the main principle of rainbow holography, in which the spectrum of the reconstructed image is selected by the eye of the observer. The method is suitable for rainbow and Denisyuk holograms.
