Effects of laser radiation on matter. Laser plasma

Transient clearing of a water aerosol in the case of thermal blooming of an optical beam

Abstract: The moisture approximation is used in a study of transient clearing of a water aerosol when droplets are evaporated by an intense laser beam in the presence of a cross wind. Coordinate distributions of the beam intensity and moisture are obtained between the moment at which the beam begins to act and the attainment of a steady state. The dependences of the intensity of the beam transmitted by an aerosol medium on the scaling parameters (representing aerosol evaporation or clearing, beam attenuation, and thermal blooming) are derived. A comparison is made with experimental and theoretical results obtained by other authors.
