Mode competition in a gas laser tuned by an axial magnetic field

Abstract: A theoretical and experimental investigation was made of the modes of a two-frequency helium-neon laser tuned by a strong axial magnetic field, for which the Zeeman broadening of the gain profile of the active medium exceeds the Doppler broadening.
