Abstract:
An analysis is made of the nature of oscillations in a plane–plane resonator with an intracavity amplitude–phase Fourier corrector introducing a phase shift π between the central maximum and the wings of the focal distribution of the field and attenuating the amplitude of the wings. It is shown that the lowest transverse mode can be selected reliably in such a resonator when certain parameters of the corrector are selected. This can be done in the presence or absence of small-scale intracavity phase inhomogeneities.
