Spectral characteristics of pulsed single-frequency CO laser radiation
B. F. Kuntsevich, V. V. Churakov
Abstract:
An improved model of a pulsed single-frequency CO2 laser takes into account the influence of the "vibrational" mechanism on the frequency sweep of the radiation and makes it possible to obtain a quantitative agreement with the experimental data. Calculations performed using this model show that for typical variations of the pressure, specific input energy, and photon lifetime in the resonator, the overall spectral width of a pulse can reach several tens of megahertz. The relative contribution of the processes considered to the radiation frequency sweep depends on the parameters of the system and also on the moment of time during a pulse.
