Saturated absorption resonance of the polarization of He–Ne/CH4 laser radiation

Abstract:
The observation of a resonance is reported for the polarization of the radiation from an He–Ne laser with a methane absorption cell operating under two-mode locking conditions and the results of an experimental investigation are presented. A comparison is made with the theory. Some features of the use of this polarization resonance in stabilizing the laser radiation frequency are indicated.
