Stochastisation of optical solitons by the spontaneous luminescence noise in active optical fibres

Abstract:
A theoretical investigation is reported of coherent amplification of solitons in active optical fibres in the presence of the spontaneous luminescence noise. An analysis is made of fluctuations of the soliton parameters and limits on the data transmission rate (bit rate) are identified.
