Full-text PDF (979 kB) Citations (1)
Abstract: A pulsed optically pumped NH3 laser is modeled numerically. Calculated dependences of the output energy and laser power on the buffer gas pressure and temperature of the active medium, obtained allowing for nonlinear effects due to interaction between the pump and laser radiation fields coupled via a common level, can be used to interpret various available experimental data. An analysis is made of the dependence of the threshold excitation power on the pump radiation frequency.
