Control of laser radiation parameters

Optimization of an absorber in respect of spectral characteristics in a passively mode-locked dye laser

D. P. Krindach, V. I. Novoderezhkin, A. V. Sherstyuk
Abstract: An investigation was made of matching of the spectral characteristics of an amplifier and an absorber in passively mode-locked cw lasers by a specific choice of a suitable dye mixture. It was demonstrated experimentally that this reduced the duration and increased the energy of the pulses. It is important to note that the profile of the autocorrelation function was also improved.
