Abstract:
The divergence of radiation from a heterojunction injection laser was reduced to ~8.5° by exciting nonwaveguide modes as a result of tilting the resonator mirrors with respect to the waveguide axis. Calculations were made of the threshold current density as a function of the tilt angle and the diameter of the luminous spot on the diode mirror.
