Abstract: The literature data on the principal types of experimental molecular-weight distributions in the products of the Fischer–Tropsch synthesis are examined and classified. The influence of the catalyst composition and the experimental conditions in the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis on the type of molecular weight distribution is considered. The possible mechanisms of the propagation and termination of the hydrocarbon chain in the Fischer–Tropsch synthesis are discussed using the available data on the molecular-weight distribution. The bibliography includes 94 references.
