Critical conversion in polymerization processes

T. F. Irzhak, V. I. Irzhak

Federal Research Center of Problems of Chemical Physics and Medicinal Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, Chernogolovka, Moscow region
Abstract: The state of the art in calculations of the critical conversion (gel point) in three-dimensional polymerization and polycondensation is considered. The advantages and limitations of the statistical and kinetic approaches and a method for gel point calculation based on the concept of bond blocks are analyzed. The topological structure of the critical clusters is discussed.
