Iron oxygenases: structure, mechanism and modelling
A. A. Shteinman Federal Research Center of Problems of Chemical Physics and Medicinal Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, Chernogolovka, Moscow region
Abstract:
Recent advances in the field of studies of the structures and the mechanisms of action of iron-containing oxygenases are considered. Examples of chemical modelling of these enzymes are given, which is very important for the design of efficient bio-inspired catalysts for selective hydrocarbon oxidation and directed oxygenation of non-activated C–H and C=C bonds in multifunctional molecules.
