Kinetic and Thermodynamic Aspects of Catalysis by Immobilised Enzymes

I. V. Berezin, A. M. Klibanov, K. Martinek

Lomonosov Moscow State University
Abstract: The review deals with a quantitative analysis of the physicochemical characteristics of catalysis by immobilised enzymes. The role of factors such as inhibition by external and internal diffusion and the characteristics of diffusion in polymeric carriers, the nature of the carrier, the changes in the true kinetic parameters of enzymatic reactions after immobilisation, and steric limitation of the rates of reaction of immobilised enzymes with macromolecular substrates are considered.
