Polymeric Derivatives of Adamantane

A. P. Khardin, S. S. Radchenko

Volgograd Polytechnic Institute
Abstract: The literature data on the synthesis and properties of polymers with fragments of the polyhedral structures of adamantane and 1,1'-biadamantane are surveyed. The inter-relation between the structures of the polyhedral monomers and their reactivities is examined. A distinctive feature of the adamantane-containing polymers, together with their high thermal stability, is their resistance to hydrolysis and oxidation and to the action of light and solvents.
