New Problems and Prospects in the Electrochemistry of Semiconductors

Yu. Ya. Gurevich, Yu. V. Pleskov

Institute of Electrochemistry of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow
Abstract: This review gives a unified discussion of current theoretical ideas in semiconductor electrochemistry and in the interpretation of physicochemical processes at the semiconductor/electrolyte interface (mainly, the electrochemical phenomena associated with the photo-excitation of the electron–hole ensemble of the semiconductor and used in practical devices for solar energy conversion, laser etching of semiconductors, photo-corrosion protection, etc.). New problems and likely future developments in the electrochemistry of semiconductors are discussed. 90 references.
