New Spectroscopic Methods in Gas-Phase Chemical Kinetics

O. M. Sarkisov, S. G. Cheskis

Institute of Chemical Physics of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow
Abstract: The possibilities provided by the application of advances in laser technology to the solution of problems in gas-phase chemical kinetics have been analysed. The basic principles of various laser methods for producing and recording active chemical species have been described. Examples of the use of lasers to study the reactions of radicals and excited species, in the diagnostics of complex chemical processes, and to carry out selective laser-chemical reactions have been examined.
