Nucleophilic Substitution in β-Heterofunctional αβ-Unsaturated Iminium Salts

Data on the hydrolysis, aminolysis, hydrothiolysis, and cyanolysis of β-heterofunctional αβ-unsaturated aliphatic and cyclic iminium salts are described systematically and surveyed. The direction of attack by the nucleophile on the two C-electrophilic centres in these compounds is discussed.
