Abstract:
The literature data and the results of studies by the authors of the review on the kinetics and mechanism of the radical polymerisation of vinyl monomers in the presence of stable radicals of different classes are treated systematically and discussed. The principal kinetic features associated with the influence of the structure of the monomer and the stable radical, the type of initiation, and the nature of the initiator on the polymerisation inhibited by stable radicals are noted. Equations are presented for the calculation of the kinetic parameters of the principal elementary reactions responsible for the initiating and inhibiting effect of stable radicals. The bibliography includes 155 references.
