Selenonium Compounds and Their Applications in Synthesis

The review gives a systematic account and surveys the results of studies in the chemistry of selenonium compounds (salts, ylides, ylide-salts, diylides, and imides). The methods of synthesis of selenonium compounds, their structure, their behaviour in reactions with electrophiles and nucleophiles, and also their reactions under conditions of thermolysis and rearrangements are considered.
