Reactions of Transition Metal Polyhydride Complexes with Hydrocarbons
V. D. Makhaev, A. P. Borisov Chernogolovka Institute of Chemical Physics of the USSR Academy of Sciences
Abstract:
The literature data on the interaction of transition metal polyhydride complexes with hydrocarbons are surveyed and analysed. Attention is concentrated on the examination of reactions with participation of the C–H bonds of hydrocarbons, i.e. on the activation of C–H bonds. The principal features of these reactions – the influence of the central atom of the complex, the nature of the stabilising ligands, the structure of the hydrocarbon, the reaction conditions, the solvent, and thermodynamic and kinetic factors – are examined. The possibility of increasing the catalytic activity of systems based on transition metal polyhydride complexes is discussed. The bibliography includes 87 references.
