Abstract:
Methods for the synthesis of ion exchangers based on modified mineral carriers, such as chemical modification of the surface by organosilicon compounds, adsorption and chemical modification of the surface by low-molecular-weight and polymeric organic compounds, the polymerisation of monomers on the surface of mineral carriers, and the hydrolytic polycondensation of organosilicon compounds, have been examined. A list of the most widely encountered commercial sorbents has been given. The possibilities provided by the use of ion exchangers based on mineral carriers for the sorption and separation of inorganic ions, in the high-performance liquid chromatography of organic compounds and biopolymers, and also in catalysis, have been demonstrated. The bibliography contains 261 references.
